Caveat: Option quantities/prices vary from resource to resource. These quantities (and prices in most cases) were taken from year-specific 'Accumulative Production/Final Model Year Reports' from Chevrolet and 'Options And Accessories When Installed By Chevrolet' price sheets and do not normally include quantities/prices from GM of Canada unless otherwise noted.
It is important to note the items listed and the quantity represent the item individually when ordered as an option and not when they may have come as standard equipment or in a convenience or appearance group on certain models. All costs listed are 1966/67 dollars. Also note some options were priced differently dependent on other options ordered, model the option was ordered on, and depending on what GM literature you're reading. Some price lists are in even and half-dollars amounts. Prices shown in parentheses ( ) are from September 1, 1966 price list; others from original window stickers and/or dealer paperwork.
Quantity numbers may or may not be correct but are the best available figures. Be sure to read the notations below the list for anomalies.

come from numerous resources; GM Heritage Restoration Kits,
actual dealer invoices (GM to dealer cost), car invoices (dealer
to buyer), and valid window stickers. Costs in the GM
Heritage Restoration Kits are generally done very early in the
model year and are subject to change. If you have verified
proof of an option with a different cost than is shown, please
don't hesitate to contact me via my contact page. Some options have been noted with different costs on the window sticker. Whether this was due to a price increase or just a higher cost in Canada due to exchange rate is not known. For example, the same RPO M20 4-spd from KC sticker priced at $105.35 cost $124.40 in British Columbia; RPO U63 on the KC car sticker priced at $57.40 cost $83.70 in British Columbia. |

| (3) | The Z29 stripe
package was the internal RPO code for base side stripes standard
on both SS396 models. Of the 63,006 SS 396 models produced in
1967, 4,770 (a little over 7%) opted for the RPO D96 special
stripes yet these are not often seen today and many restorers
choose not to replace even the standard stripes. One should
also note that the total of Z29 stripe option and D96 stripe
option DO NOT total the number of SS396 cars reported. Z29 = 49,580 D96 = 4,770 ---------------- Total = 54,350 |
