1967 Trim Tag Codes

It is known that in 1967 Atlanta coded all trim tag style numbers with an even 3rd digit so the Fisher Body Style number is not a valid resource to tell if the car was a V8 or L6.

This trim tag is suspected of being a reproduction, and a poor one at that. The sequence number of the car, 138871, puts the build date in late December (12C). Other SS396 sport coupes in this (12C) time frame and sequence numbers in the 138xxx range have body number of 8400-8600; note this one is body number 11845. An SS396 body number this large isn't met until late February. Note lack of "slag" covering the rivets. While this "feature" varied, it's rare to find one from Atlanta with no slag at all covering the rivets. Also note there is no hand stamped number that is found on the majority of 1967 Atlanta trim tags.
