Chevrolet did not retain any records on combinations of options. This means it is impossible to know how many of any particular series and model came with any combination of options such as how many convertibles were built with a 4-speed and/or a specific optional engine or how many 2-door sport coupes came with a radio.

Only known options reported by Chevrolet are listed. Reports excludes Canadian produced options. Note that model code #3 includes both the Monte Carlo sport coupe and convertible even though no known factory Monte Carlo convertibles are known to have been assembled, Chevrolet included the body style in their reports.

Line items with orange bar are items shown on some dealer new car records but not shown as options reported by GM.

Notes:
# F41 was standard equipment on both the Z15 and Z25 optioned sport coupes and convertibles. F41 was also an option on any sedan, coupe, or convertible with the LS3 engine. El Caminos never received, nor could an El Camino be ordered with, the F41 option; F40 yes, F41 no.
* Chargeable Vinyl Trim Only
** As reported by First Generation Monte Carlo website
*** Found on Kansas City 13437 sport coupe
**** The Factory Assembly Instruction Manual shows RPO G67 for other 13000 series than the 13857 Monte Carlo.
***** The Leeds plant at Kansas City is the only 1970 plant that actually list RPO code Z25 on their build sheets, all other plants list only ZL3.
# The figure 337,491 includes 25,938 Malibu Sport Coupes imported from Canada. The Z15 Units Possible and percentage would actually be a bit lower since the LS6 was not produced or imported from Canada. So one would need to reduce the Units Possible by 4,475 thereby reducing the percentage by a small margin.

1. The L34 396/402 350hp engine is not listed. The L34 was the base engine with the Z25 Super Sport Option of which 53,599 were reported sold. One must subtract the number of L34 engines by subtracting the number of L78 engines (2,144) from the 53,599 Z25 options, or 51,455 s96/402 engines.
2. The LS5 454/360 hp engine is not listed. The LS5 was the base engine of the Z15 SS 454 option. One must subtract the optional LS6 engine number (4,475) from the Z15 SS 454 option number (8,773) to get the number of LS5 engines sold:  8773 (Z15) - 4475 (LS6) = 4298 (LS5).
3. An additional 3,823 LS5 engines are not listed but were sold with RPO Z20, the Monte Carlo SS. So, in total there were 8,121 (4298 + 3823) LS5 engines sold as part of 1 of 2 SS packages but none sold as an option in and of itself.
4. Concerning the L65 350-2bbl engine, since this was the base V8 in the Monte Carlo, the 70,944 shown is not included in the RPO L65 top figure of 112,686.

Caveats:
Where Monte Carlo is shown in the Description column, the Quantity Reported Sold column will first list the total reported sold with the Monte Carlo number below it. The total, or top figure, includes the Monte Carlo figure as reported by First Generation Monte Carlo website. ChevelleStuff.Net cannot verify those Monte Carlo figures listed except when the option is a Monte Carlo item only (model code 3) and those figures do not agree with the Chevrolet Annual Production Report. For example, RPO code A41 is a Monte Carlo only RPO and figures reported differ.; 637 reported by Chevrolet vs. 630 reported by the Monte Carlo website. If one totals all the transmissions listed on the Monte Carlo website, you get a total of 147,404 - that is 1,428 more transmissions than Monte Carlos.

How the figure of 588,022 in the Units Possible column was arrived at is unknown. Chevrolet reports a total of 633,945 units sold. This includes the Monte Carlo and all Chevelles imported from Canada. Naturally some options such as two-tone paint would immediately eliminate all convertibles (7,522) but that still leaves 38,401 units unaccounted for. It would also mean many other popular options such as tinted glass, vanity mirrors, floor mats, and any other option with a Units Possible number of 588,022 wouldn't have been available on convertibles - simply can't be.

Notes:
>> Electric door locks (RPO AU3) is shown available for all models except '37 which is the sport coupe. I find this very difficult to accept as other GM documentation shows AU3 available for all Chevelle models. The figure shown for Chevelles possible with this option (306,231) does not calculate IF the sport coupe was excluded. Given a total of 633,945 Chevelles & Monte Carlos reported sold in 1970 and then subtracting the sport coupe number of 301,878 leaves 332,067 Chevelles - still more than the 306,231 reported. This is just one of many discrepancies found in the numbers and how they are presented.

>> G70x14 White Stripe Tire (RPO PX8) is not shown on Chevrolet's report. This tire option has been noted on El Camino SS454.

>> Operating Convenience Group (RPO ZQ2) is not shown on Chevrolet's report. This option has been found on several build sheets as well as a dealer's order form.
